Young Gun

My 1st archery buck!

16 posts in this topic

Harvey Lee, look at this baby. Hunted almost every single night since opener. Sat through rain and wind and some of the most skeeter infested woods that you'd ever seen.

Tonight was my night. After passing on a few forks and 6 point baskets I place my Rage mecahnical just behind the shoulder on a 1/4 away shot. 32 yard shot. Huge entrance.

Nice nine pointer with some nice split brow tines. laugh.gif

Equipment used, Martin Bengal, Carbon Express Terminator, Rage 2 blade mechanicals, Lumenok lighted arrow nock.

p.s. thanks for the sweet rod. I'm gonna lay the smack down on some slabs with that baby this winter. wink.gif

Nice buck and congrats!!! How far did he go after the shot. I'm hoping to be out of work today at 2:30 and have my picture posted Monday AM. I have seen the buck I'm looking for twice now in the last week but he has out smarted me both times. The climber is coming with me this evening and will see if I can catch him off guard. Great Picture!!! Way to go on your first bow buck too.

Great buck, Feels pretty good getting that first one out of the way. So what time of night did you get to bed after showing everyone you knew.

I know thats what i did, my first bow kill is the one by my name and i am sure half my family saw the thing that night.

Great job wink.gif

Rainbows are typically stocked.  Check the DNR for locations.      SE Minnesota, Whitewater, Root river systems have nativized brown trout.     But if you just want meat, go to costco.   Buy them it is cheaper.

Update: APR 27, 2017 — We requested a meeting with school administration to see HOW we could make this work - how we could break down barriers and open pathways. Sadly, we were declined. We are moving forward and will be presenting our petition signatures, research and plan to the school board on May 8th. Please help us get to 500 Plus!!  signatures! Thank you!! JKJKODA

The Department of Natural Resources celebrates Arbor Day on Friday, April 28, and Arbor Month in May by recognizing the health benefits of trees in Minnesota.  Trees and forests provide numerous health benefits such as: Helping reduce skin cancer. Decreasing mental stress and promoting healing. Cleaning the air and reducing childhood asthma rates. Reducing stressful noises by 50 percent. Providing healthy fruits and nuts. “Getting your daily dose of trees is good for your health and easy to do,” said Jennifer Teegarden, DNR forestry outreach specialist. “You can climb a tree, go camping, sit under a tree, take a hike or visit a forest.” To encourage people to get a daily dose of trees, the DNR is launching the #31DaysOfTrees challenge during Arbor Month. Simply post a photo or video while getting a daily dose of trees on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Use the hashtag #31DaysOfTrees and include @MinnesotaDNR when posting to Facebook. Participation will be tracked using hashtag #31DaysOfTrees. Participants may win one of five state parks permits and have 10 trees planted in their honor in a Minnesota state forest. The more times a person posts enjoying their daily dose of trees, the more chances they’ll have to win. Participants must be 18 years or older and a Minnesota resident to win a prize. Visit the DNR’s Arbor Month webpage to watch videos of Minnesotan’s getting their daily dose of trees and how trees improve health. Additional details on the #31DaysOfTrees challenge and a listing of local Arbor Day celebrations can also be found on the Arbor Month webpage. Discuss below - to view set the hook here.
