Weekend of 9/22-23

4 posts in this topic

Fished Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning

taking advantage of these extra couple weeks of fall fishing.

It was good, not great. The fish were a bit smaller this

weekend but still some beefy Walleyes in the 17 to 19 inch

range were willing to bite and we put back 4 or 5 biggies

in the slot.

The rumors were flying about where and how the MTT Champion-

ship was won. Saturday morning there were about 100 boats

out of the Lighthouse Gap in 20 feet of water anchors out

and jigs a flyin'.

We are too close to the North Star Fall Classic for me to

go into much depth BUT, fish are biting, its easy fishing,

you dont have to burn alot of gas to get limits of the

nicest averge size fish of the year.

It's 85 degrees up there today.....and windy again. Thank

goodness for the river. Lots of people fishing again this

BTW, I stopped at Wigwam to see the sign up board for the

Classic. 27 teams so far, with a couple weeks to go things

are looking good.

I am looking at a new portable shelter this year. It would be ideal to get one that fits 3-4 people so I can take my whole family out. I am looking at the clam x400. My concern is the weight. Does anybody have experience lifting this unit up in the back of a truck or dragging it around or to move from spot to spot?  Any suggestions of other shelters to look at would be great. Thanks!

Just wondering what you guys prefer for fishing fall walleyes down here in southern mn. I know the creek and redtail chubs work great on the northern mn lakes during the fall months but wasnt quite sure if our lakes responded the same down here or if a smaller profile would be the way to go.

Looks to fix the fishing in shallow water issues many guys had too.
