Where could I find one of these? This hooks up to my current 125 cables, yet gives me the GPS.

Cableas was having a internet special on 330C a month ago a buddy picked one up. But after looking it looks like that is a done deal. They aren't all that common anymore since there have been two more models since that one. But my buddy picked one up for $399 I believe on the net and that is a pretty darn good price for that unit. Otherwise keep your eyes open for a ebay deal. A 332C will give you the same options and work on the same set up. If you have the blue connectors for power you should be set. All of the twist lock connectors both grey and blue will work for the transducer with this unit. At the most you should only have to replace the power cord and that is a very easy little job. But if you have the power cord that has three cables coming off you will be just fine but you will have to hook up the wires for the GPS receiver puck on this cable. Make sure it is hooked to a power source that can be shut off otherwise wire in a toggle switch. Otherwise the GPS Puck will continually draw power so when it is just sitting it will be draning your battery.

Seeing it's only your second year find buddy to go with as rock said. I even bring a second set of dry clothes and footwear. I am to big mess with thin ice I need 6 inches as rick said early varies so much so some where there is half as much ice.    Safety gear check include ice cleats as i have seen enough broken arms happen. Check your gear test the vexilar hook it up and turn it on to see if it runs or just hook up the charger. I use the drill plate so I charge all my batteries and with blade protecter on I make sure it works. My little sled is ready to haul my gear.    I go light during early ice so fill so fill up my plactics container and restock my jig boxes. Make sure my set ups have new line and pick my favorite set ups to take with. I can add some photos later

Lets say you have 1.5 ah batteries now and you drilled one and a half holes per battery. Unless that ice was 50' thick, have dull blades and your auger is 8, or bigger that's not a drill you want to put more money into.  So give us some info on your auger and how many in lbs of torque is your drill?
