Lake Rachel

Hello All, has anyone fished Lake Rachel lately? We fished it years ago when the rising water was about to make the peninsula an island. we are thinking of stopping up this fall. Thanks in advance. Spit.

Spit, the peninsula is now nothing but dead trees sticking out of the water. The channel between the big, and little lake is now big enough that you can get 2 pontoons to pass with room on either side. If you haven't fished it for awhile make sure yu check out the special regs for the lake. Bass and panfish have been doing well from what I've heard, haven't been out there myself lately. norhtherns are always biting but they are the ones with special regs.

The water on the lake is done rising. The pennisula that you are talking about is still a pennisula. The people on the island had to build up the road with the rising water. I haven't fished the lake since this spring. It is one of my favorites with all the structure that the rising water gave us. If you haven't been there in years be careful around the shore...even up to 100' out. There are stumps that will eat your lower unit. Last year people found some walleyes but not many from what I understand. Good luck and Let us know how you do...

Snuffy's Landing area on the Mississippi just North of Becker has always be good. Otherwise the Elk river hold some nice ones.

My trophy would be the walleye, mainly because it is what I target but I have to admit hooking a 21" small mouth would be a fun battle.

So I saw this question posed elsewhere, and thought it was a fun one to get people talking as we wait for open water season.   Which trophy fish do you have on Vermilion?  Which do you want the most?  And why?   A- 30" Walleye B- 21" Smallie C- 40" Pike D- 50" Muskie   My goal is a 21"+ smallie.  I got a 20.5" last summer, which is 1/2" shy of Master Angler quality in Minnesota.  Why?  Because I can't get so close and not ultimately achieve the goal.  The 21" smallie on Vermilion is now my white whale.
