There is Pheasant View Hunt Farm in Goodhue. I have gone there a few times with my golden and they have a little trainign field and also sometimes have some extra pigeons for training purposes. They are fairly new and very accomodating.

There is also a game farm in oronoco. Hidden valley or something like that. He has been in it for a long time and if he doens't have pigeons he would definitely know where you could get some. His name is Butch.

get a live trap and check with a local farmer their usally willing to let you capture the little rats with wings. Nice to practice the same protocal as asking permission to hunt.

I grew up in this area and if walk in a ways  you can be all by yourself. Best time deer hunting can be during duck season when people are moving the deer.

Send me a pm for some ideas in the area. I plan on hunting Dayton and Monticello mainly but if those don't work out I need some backup plans.

I am with you, net_man.  I *hate* that I can't C&R walleyes in the fall.  I mean, what's hooking mortality at 6-12 ft deep with artificial lures in October and November?  I've never had a fish not swim away, and I can't remember one that didn't do it in a hurry.  Drives me crazy, as fall trolling on Mille Lacs is one of my favorite ways to catch fish.  This year, thanks to the weather, we did get out in December...and the fishing was nuts.  If only we had been able to be out all fall...   I wonder if the night ban in the fall (even if we haven't hit our quote) has more to do with enforcement than anything else.  I have no idea what's said at meeting I ain't invited to.
