what a week!!!!

1 post in this topic

Just got home from our annual trip to God's favorite lake. What a trip! Our two boats landed more fish than ever in our 20 years of coming north. Mostly pike, and monster smallmouth. Spent all week at camp ontario, fished from shoe bay to paddy bay. Lots of fish around Gube pt. and Argyle island. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather. Only 358 days till next years trip. We got to I'Falls about noon and spent some time shopping and looking around. First time we did that too. We enjoyed your town very much. You guys are so fortunate, you have the greatest fishery in the world, beautiful scenery,(by the way we saw massive amounts of eagles and one swimming bear), and now you have our Oklahoma boy Adrian Peterson playing ball for the Vikings. I'm about ready to move. Thanks for treating us so well, we will be back next August.

My buddy and his dad dropped there front end of there pickup in on lake bemidji Saturday luckley they were able to get out with out harm. After all the rain and warm temps hopefully people learn now to stop driving. If you do go out walk not worth the risk. I'm looking at the forcast and after tonight the lows for nights are in the teens so hopefully things may heal up and I can get out a few more times. It's the middle of February I'm not going to be putting things away yet feels like I just got things out!

We had to ride snowmobiles 30 miles out of the Canadian bush Monday and it was a mess. Filled our Otters with water even with covers strapped on.

From what I am seeing on the Arnesen webcam, there is not much snow left.  Sleds would need scratchers.  Wheelers maybe a better option until we get more snow and there is none in the forecast.

Coming up Thursday morning and planning on making the run to the reefs/islands via snowmobile.  Is there any loose snow left on the trail to keep the sleds cool, or would a 4 wheeler be necessary?  Any information from locals there would be very much appreciated.  Thx.
