I was out with Tom Hatlestad (FM - Harvey Lee) and the camera crew today shooting a pan fish video. I'm guessing the show is going to turn out great. We caught a lot of quality crappies today and a bonus was that we ended the show with a double. This isn't a formal report; I'll let the HSO video cover that.

Here are a few "still shots" of what you can expect to see more of in the video.

10 - 11" fish are very typical.

It was absolutely beautiful out there today. In fact, when the camera crew left, Tom and I went back out for some more. We didn't keep anything today but it sure was a blast catching them.

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents

Thanks for the info everyone. And Borch that is good to know too.  I try to spend 2-3 hours looking on cedar each trip, but It's a lot of water to break down , and having only been out hardwater cattin 6 times so far I still have a lot to learn.  Generally I spend a lot of my 3 hours losing confidence and then wind up at the meth hole to catch a few .  Putting in the work is what makes it so fun once it all comes together though!
