haybale blind

5 posts in this topic

Has anyone tried the haybale type blinds made by otter outdoors. I usually hunt a field with pits, but I would like to try some new spots this year and will need to make or purchase some type of blind.

laydown blinds seem far more versatile, however if I had access to fields that actually had other hay bales in them I would probably invest in a haybale blind just so I didn't have to shoot from the laying-down position.

Hunting partners use them in Canada with success. They are getting older and it is easier to sit in a bale blind than to try and raise up from the ground.

If the field already has bales than just use them to hide behind. I would definitely go with the layout blind. Gimme a shout I can maybe save ya a few bucks on a layout blind.

i've seen people hunting out of them, and if there are no other bales in the field, the bale blinds look pretty goofy and seem to stand out
