Cooler Weather

3 posts in this topic

I am heading up this weekend till monday and was just told what the weather is going to be like, the whole time i'm goin to be up there it isn't suppose to reach 80. I am worried if this will effect the fishing. The water level must be very low right now. Should I be worried? confused.gif

In my experience, as long as the weather is stable and consistent the particular temperature isn't overly important. We've been in a cool pattern for over a week now, so continued cool shouldn't be a problem.

Lake levels are down somewhat, and clarity is up, so fish might tend a little deeper. Having said that, last Friday/Saturday I hammered morning walleye pulling crank baits near a submerged weedline in 10-14 feet of water on Norwegian bay.

For being a Minnesota fishermen, I'm not all for walleyes, I like skies, northern, bass. But does it still make a difference?

Nice thats what I like to hear, was doing an annual trip to LOW with my buddies, but to be quite honest biggest fish I ever saw in 10 plus trips was 27 inches, I caught 3 bigger than that on the pond last year, and hey I can stay in Wright county where I live and catch 10 inch walleyes.. I don't make it up to that end of the lake ever, usually fish the south end..Bought a wheel house this year, would loke to set it up as base camp and hopefully be able to head up toward that end and do some exploring..And thanks for the input, thinking there is a lot of readers and not many writers on this site nowadays...

Lake Marion is completely iced over. Hopefully we won't get much snow and be fishing soon.

Silver lake in New Brighton is iced over. I'm going to count one week before checking thickness on my early ice spots. Could be fishing next Friday if all goes well.
