Trip Report 18th - 20th

1 post in this topic

Went out of Arneson's, got the boat in the water about 1:30 saturday. Used downriggers with shad raps most of the time. Also tried snap weights. Both worked pretty well. Pretty big waves the whole time we were there. Most of the charters we could see were working 16 mile. We worked arneson's and 12 mile not wanting a long bumpy ride in an 18 foot boat. No problem catching fish. We did not catch any record breakers by any stretch but caught pleanty of eaters between 14-18 inches. The sauger we kept were 13-15 inch. First time fishing LOTW in the summer for me, and first time using downriggers for walleye. The folks at Arneson's were great, I blew a fuse in my lowrance and a charter captain helped me out.

We caught 15 fish saturday afternoon, 25 or so on sunday. El Skunkola on Monday but we only fished for an hour or so than pulled the plug since we were getting beat up pretty bad in the waves.

The forum has do much more than fishing reports, hot bites, etc.  There's been more general and specific fishing  techniques, information and connecting with each other that has happened  here.     I can get hot bite information in a lot of places.  In fact many hot bites never do up on these forums.  Sounds like you've got a lot of information in a lot of places.   That's great!  Many of us have done the same thing.     Many of us have got together on the ice, in the woods or on the water because of.this forum.  That's what I've always enjoyed the most.     Hope to be able to keep doing that for a long time.

Correct.  You can throw him a buck or two to keep the road graded and all is good.  At least that's my understanding.
