Ferguson

14 posts in this topic

Can't believe none of the Vike's faithful are bantering about the real possibility of picking up the retread, er-umm I mean, the respected receiver Ferguson. He's been a huge disappointment in Green Bay and couldn't flourish under Farve... how's he gonna play under Jackson? Also the last 3 years have been injury plagued for him...

What's everyone elses thoughts? Will he sign here or with the Texans... If here, who are the Vikes gonna cut? Will it have an impact or be a flop?

I'm thinking he will sign with the Vikes... he'll have an outstanding game against Green Bay at the Dome and be so-so the rest of the season.

Good Luck!

Ken

He will probably sign with the vikes it sounds, since they are promising him playing time. They will cut someone that wouldn't make a difference anyways and he will be average at best. I didn't mind getting Longwell and Sharper, but this is a stretch. crazy.gif

I agree, Longwell and Sharper have been nice additions to the team. If you look at what we have at receiver now, one more to prove himself can't hurt.....

I just read that it is most likely a done deal, he is even planning on being at practice today yet.

It was reported on Kfan that he was signed . Getting to be an aweful lot of ex-Packers on the Vikes . I don't remember him as anything but an average or below WR and I wonder who we will have to cut to make room . confused.gif

The sad thing is he has 3 more TD receptions in his career than the other 11 receivers on the team have COMBINED!!

He's got a whopping 12 TD receptions. The other 11 guys have a grand total of 9.......

Maybe he just needs a decent QB throwing to him??? grin.gifgrin.gif

Sorry, I don't mean to knock Lord Favre, but as a die hard Viking fan, I just had to put that little jab in. wink.gif

Ahhhh that's right... the Vike's have a REEEAALLL QB! crazy.gif

Jab or not against Farve, Ferguson is a major under achiever! I don't look for that to change. I think as usual with him, the Vikes will get snapshots of his talent, but never the whole picture.

Good Luck!

The Vike's have a reeeeaaallll UN-PROVEN QB. Give the guy a chance, He's only had 2 regular season starts and those were as a rookie. He hasn't even had a chance to show us what he has, may be just what the doctor ordered.

Its a good pick up in my opinion, What better WR do we have?? Wade??, Williamson?? Give him a shot it can't hurt any.

Robert had 12 td's in six years with the packers.

Longwell missed a 35 yeard chip shot the other night.

Traveris(sp) fumbled on the first snap.

Sharper looks like he's back.

Good luck!

Well he surely wont be any worse than what we had.. Would not be too proud to be a pack fan either. I think both will be fighting for the bottom.

In the summer they seem to be about 20' feet down over 50'-80' feet of water. We trolled small raps with what ever would get it down there. I also had down riggers to use.  You could try some deep hook and slip bobbers with a worm in some of the deeper bays to see if they will take it?  Good luck.

I have a bait/rigging question. The kids and I were out on Big Watab chasing a suntan and when I told them that the lake has trout they wanted to try for them but I mostly fish sunnies and crappies. What would I need to get to fish for trout out there? Looking back in the forums I see that some guys use leadcore (I'm not buying new rod/reels) and some use bobbers. Any advice on a common bobber set up? Also, I have an "active" 10 year old so it seems that jigging works best to keep him busy, any advice on jigging for trout?

Update! Water is way down! But I was able to get a smallmouth with a topwater plug.  And a catfish broke my leader off a  worm, was very confused. Going again tomorrow

Vermilion is less than 20 miles... Or eagle nest 3 (and 1 and 2) are right next door.   You might check them out.

Love seeing guys out training dogs but you can really do  some serious damage to your dogs neck if it runs hard for a long distance before being stopped suddenly when the check cord is attached to a collar. I would suggest a harness instead that has attachment at the back that you can clip your check cord to. It will also flow off the back and less likely to get tangled up in the legs and belly which can also be dangerous especially when in the water.   It doesnt look deep where you are but you never know whats under the water that could snag your check cord. Sorry dont mean to preach but I have seen it first hand where a dog has been seriously injured from this. I know the prey drive and hard charge these dogs have, but you got to keep them safe.   good luck

Can you keep smallies from the Ottertail?  Thought there was a restriction on them in there.

If I go on an infected water I get it cleaned regardless.  Granted 99% of the time I fish a non-infected lake but still get it cleaned just incase.
