New sights and sounds! (some pics added)

1 post in this topic

I was out working today in this rain and I noticed that we are finally getting enough to actually cause some of it to remain on the surface in some of the fields! This is a welcome sight for all the time that we have been dry. Maybe some of the rivers and streams can get a little much needed replenishing now. Quite a few thunder booms as well near the Austin area this morning as well. I heard that Pipestone had already had 5 inches this morning.

Went out this morning after hearing about how much rain we got and took a few pics.

Here is a pic of how high the water got in our driveway over night.

This was in front of Hy-Vee south.

And this used to be three different ponds that were seperated by a walking path.

I love these fish! The attitude is always fun and they taste great. The strip of y bones can be cut right out with a little effort.    I know where I'll be early in the morning May 13th with topwaters and swimbaits!

Grubens did permits the 2016 season. Fortune bay stopped writing BWCA permits the end of the 2015 season. Sally retired and that ended the permits at the bay.  Some day we will be able to buy permits on line and print them.

The video shown in the link posted above shows most of the fish they're handling going back because they're not ready or too green. The video was from 4/14 so I would bet they are done as that was 1 1/2 weeks ago. Cutfoot was done in less than a week. Cliff will be able to tell you for sure when then finished but I'd guess they were done by the end of last week.
