Lake Minnewaska Walleyes

5 posts in this topic

Anyone know how the Walleyes are biting and what they have been using. I'm coming up on a family vacation. And Also heard about A walleye tournament in September and was going to see if anyone knew anything about that. Thanks in advance!

Walleye's are biting with their mouths and have been using their teeth. Go to the tournament / league talk thread towards the bottom of the list for more info on the tournament.

Sorry in advance, I couldn't resist. Haven't heard any reliable reports lately. Good luck.

We fished a small bass tournament on "waska" last wednesday. During the tournament we took a number of eating size 15-16 inches walleyes out of 3 foot of water on rattle-traps. It seemed that any time we found grass on sand flats in that 3-4 foot range it held walleyes and smallies.

Strange indeed... Try looking for much more slack water compared to the beech you were yesterday and today. The West side of the dam was on fire this afternoon; a friend and I were in the double digits within an hour.

fished a different spot today and it was strange, I was using crawlers and a lot of eyes bit and only 1 sucker.  guy next to me was using earthworms and he caught a lot of suckers and 1 eye.  twilight zone ! !  LOL  I just use a slpit shot most of the time.

All we ever use is a few bigger spilt shots and float/bobber with crawlers.
