Whitefish, Sand, Bowstring, Jessie

5 posts in this topic

We're coming up to the area in a week. We usually fish a small lake but the walleye population is very low. Which of these lakes would be best for numbers of walleyes and is there a presentation that works best? Thanks in advance.

Sand, Bowstring and Jessie would be my choice. all three have been doing good on all three of them with jig and minnow on the weed line being best

Jason, are the walleyes hitting on Jessie all day or just at night?

So, I was fishing Bowstring lake in early August and I caught NOTHING!! ONly Pikes!!

I was using leeches. Does the walleyes in that lake not like leeches or something and only minnows? What type of minnows are best?

Thanks

You got to stop by! One of the best fisheries as far as multi spices lakes in MN. The fish that come out of big V can be monsters. With that being said the scenery all over the lake is like none other. It's truly one of the most scenic lakes I've ever fished really makes you sit back and really enjoy what nature has to offer.

I'm hanging it up for the season as well. Yesterday we hit 371 bay of North Long. The walk in was a bit spooky. The ice is very rotten. It takes about 8 toe kicks to make a hole hole through the ice.    With that being said, the 371 bay is the first of the area lakes to freeze and first to melt. So, I think it's reasonable to say that a guy can still get out on larger lakes, like Round, Gull, or Pelican. That's just my two cents.    It was a great year with many memoirs made. Good luck to those that still make it out, and again, be safe!

My goal is to fish Vermilion again someday.   I keep driving past it.
