Jay Cooke State Park Fishing

2 posts in this topic

Does anybody have any advice for a novice fisherman for the Jay Cooke State Park area? A friend from work is going camping in the park and was asking me about fishing either in the park or close by. He hasn't done much fishing in general and has never done any trout fishing. He's just looking for some place to catch anything with his kids. Thanks for any responses.

There are good walleye spots and s-bass spots just use what you would on any lake or river more s-bass than you can shake a stick at just get the line wet cool.gif.

Only fished for 2-3 hours tried all over the small lake we were on. Ooh well still nice to finnaly get out. Planning on taking the yak out on opener do a bass/pike/ walleye trip so exited for that. Any reports? I know there was a lot of people out there. The boomsite access was already 3/4 full when I drove by at 5 AM. I'm thinking about going out of blufflands park on Friday.
