Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Just a note to the 2 boys who decided to park their truck and trailers in water on the boat ramp taking up 2 spots out of the 3....park turn lights off and talk for 5 mins while we had at least 5 boats waiting to load to ...."use your head" I had to finally yell up at them to quit talking and load your boat! Anyway sorry about venting but i do not expect this out of fishermen. Load your boat and talk all night i don’t care. 1 of the boats had a competing fishing website logo across the side of this sparkly boat. UpNorthOutdoors should be ashamed.

There is no such thing as common courtesy at the boat launch, or anywhere else that for that matter. frown.gif

we'll on a positive note. Tonight at the Cooks bay access in mound I docked the boat just as another one was pulling up. They pulled up and dropped a guy off and since i was letting my dog pee from being on the boat for a while, i thought they'd rush to beat me to the access and land. Unfortunately the guy took his time and while i loaded the dog up he casually waited on me. i was so shocked i actually waited myself to see if he was gonna pull out and cut me off, but! for the shocker i pulled out and landed my boat while he slowly pulled up and waited his line in turn. Im not saying this is a huge deal but it is in a way. It nice to see respect, especially when the kid was around the same age as me, 24.

Oh, also last saterday while landing i had a guy jump out of his boat and get my boat winch ready for me while trying to land with 15-25 mph winds gusted into shore. great guy.

then a few weeks ago i pulled up with the trailer to land, being second in line i casually waited while the person in front was putting in their boat(30'+). Well after the boat had slid off the trailer, the person backing the truck in decided he would practice backing his trailer in till absolutely perfect, WHILE I SAT WAITING!!! Well after waiting a good 5 minutes the kid driving got out of his truck and started playing in the water!!!! (Contact Us Please)!!! Seeing this my blood started to boil, i got out and leaned up against my hood and crossed my arms. the kid looks up several minutes later and asked, are you waiting to land!!!??? Once again (Contact Us Please)!!!??? My boat was shored up 15' away from him!!! and i was the only other person there!! DUH!, of course its my boat. Now this makes me think, what a dueche bag!! he then finally proceed to get out of my way.

People can make you wonder sometimes.

Sounds like the same people i was waiting on Wednesday night. One truck had his lights and engine off. I guess he must have been planning to stay for a while. I was just about to honk the horn when one of the guys woke up and realized he had a line of empty trailers waiting on him. I would guess that it wasnt intentional, maybe a senior moment..? confused.gif

From someone who grew up as a back reeling aficionado, I've learned to appreciate a quality drag on a reel.  It's the one thing I'll gladly pay for. Modern drag systems are so much better than they used to be.  Not taking advantage of them is leaving a lot of the value of a quality reel on the table.  Unused and wasted. So, is that the kind of opinion you were looking for?

They are already established in OT.  Pulled docks at my sisters place with about 75% covered in zebes.  Wear shoes when your in the water.

I noticed this spring that the higher end Shimano Stradic and others have eliminated the ability to back reel (no reverse) which I believe is a huge mistake, I don't like it!    any others have comments?

Went up north grouse hunting it was fun. I must say having a dog makes it better.  This weekend is duck opener and I am jacked up for it.

The public launch at The Landing on the west end stays open until the ice sets in, but they do pull the dock sometimes around the end of October / beginning of November.

Just curious if people are finding fish moving into fall patterns yet or still finding them in more summer locations?  I've been finding good sized panfish in deeper water myself around more mid lake structure. Most of the lakes I've been on are still pretty green with algae and weeds.

Captain Acorn, I use Gamagatu  octopus hooks. Size 4 for crawlers and size 2 for minnows. Red, black, chartreuse, and pink , mostly red and black. I use orange and green glow soft beads at times. (Worked today!) Cliff
