headin to winne this weekend mostly trolling for pike just wondering if the weeds are up good this year. anyone know if their is any action.

the weeds arent great but they are up and some pike have been biting

anyone have an update for me, coming up in the morning for the weekend looking for mostly northerns again but may try for some eyes also any info would be great. thanks

      I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

      I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff

      They eat little bitty stuff.   But them and whitefish should be catchable in summer.  They are eating after all.
