your avatar shows a picture of a trout. is that you, if so did you catch it in the merrifield area? i will be coming up to that area aug 10-18 and was wondering if it is worth it to bring up my fly rod to try it on the local trout streams you have it the area?

I would more than likely say that he didn't catch it in the Merrifield area. If he did, I am missing something!!

smile.gif CA you don't now "the" spot? Actually it was caught out of Stoney Brook. Just got back in town from a week in Myrtle Beach SC.....kind of like Nisswa only southern.

      I can not think of any lake in the Ely are that would have 5" of ice. Even the beaver ponds in the Tower area barely have ice on them! Cliff

      Took a ride around to look at a few lakes today in the Duluth area today.  Needless to say I did not like what I found.  Mostly open water is what I came across.  Any thin ice I found will not be able to hold up to any kind of wind or heavy snow fall.  Come on colder temps...   As always, Take care, Tom (BD110)

      Someone is already fishing on 5 inches in Ely. Look up rough fish on google, then go to the first result, then go to "recent forum topics". Neat stuff.

      I took my last casts of the year today on the Cannon River, just below the dam at Alexander Park. Now I'm waiting on ice, fingers crossed for Dec 17th as it's a long weekend for me.
