DanT....Carrots!

5 posts in this topic

Hey Dan how goes it? Well the trolling bite is kickin into high gear up here on the LOTW, we are getting some BIG ones these days on just about every trip.

But.....

Tis soon August and I drag myself over to the Red once or twice a week starting around the 10th each year for some Kitties to break the monotony of the midsummer Troll-a-Thon. Should be a darn good year as we had very high water thru the later part of June and into July. Years such as this one with high water coinciding with their prespawn wanderings and ways in June and early July seem to always make for a great late summer/fall bite, the numbers of large fish seem to double as well on my river haunts on the northern valley.

Tempting eh? LOL!

Norm

The only reason they allow you to have a gun while archery hunting deer is if you have a ccw. They did this because if they didn't it would impede on your rights to carry.   Thank you for contacting the Minnesota DNR.   You are correct, your friend is not. Even having both licenses, a person can't have both weapons with them at the same time. That person would need to choose which weapon and license to use, can’t do both hunts with both weapons at the same time.   Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions either by email or by calling 888-646-6367 M-F 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

I have caught them on Vermilion when the mayflies are hatching in the evening by using a fly rod with small poppers or may fly type dry flies. Just cast to the surfacing fish. A spinning rod with an Adjusta Float with poppers or flies may work even better. Cliff

I have also wondered why there are no Sauger in Vermilion. I have never caught one there or heard of one being caught by anyone else. Cliff
