How accurate are the speed indicators...

3 posts in this topic

on the Lowrance H2O GPS? I tested it driving a car, boat, ATV and it seems accurate but I also use it to determine my trolling speed. So if my GPS says I am trolling at 2.5 MPH, can I trust that? My boat speedometer doesn't read that low.

Captnshorelunch,

I only troll by GPS, the one thing to keep in consideration is that water speeds will vary with current so where your boat may say your going 1 MPH your actual ground speed may vary.

Its more accurate than anything else I have on my boat. Way better than the old paddle wheels. I would say your doing fine using the H2O for your speed.
