Vex style battery

Got a vex battery but no charger at a garage sale. Can it be charged with a regular 2/10 amp automotive charger?

2A is on the high side for a battery that small, but can't say whether or not the battery would be damaged. The main thing is probably to monitor the temperature carefully if you decide to try it. If the battery is getting hot when charged, then the charger is too big or there are other problems with the battery.

That is a 7 amp battery, that means it can hold 7 amp hours of time exp:1 amp draw for 7 hours. Same for if you charge it. If it is dead, it would take 7 amp hours to charge. If you had a 2 amp charger it would take 3.5 hours to charge. so without knowing where the charge is I would just put it on for an hour to start or you can buy a battery and charger new for $15. at Gander or Fleet Farm.

You'd be charging it at to high a rate. The charger made for charging the 7 amp hr batteries charges at .5 amp.

Paid a dollar for it so not too worried if it doesn't take/hold a charge. Will swing by Bass Pro this weekend for new batt. and charger.
