night lights on the river?

I was ridin along the river valley last night about midnight and every time I crossed the river I saw guys with big lights shining the river? I'm not to savy on the river fishin but what where they doing? ... River cats at night?

My guess would be shinein rocks! I hear they freeze in their tracks when hit with a light.

You got it. That's most likely cat fishermen slowly working around. Now that the river is so low logs, rocks and shallow shelves make navigating the river a slow go. We hit the river at night as that's when the Flathead is most active. I've got 4 off road and 2 fog lamps mounted on my boat and my buddy uses the 10 million cp spotlight as well. The water really sucks up any and all light.
