Smallies on small water

1 post in this topic

What are some of you doing for getting smallies now that the water is warm? I fish small (tiny) lakes and late July and early August seems to be the dog days. I usually end up doing jigs deep, with some early morn and dusk topwater or Gulp worms to get some fun smallies. Let all of them go. Just wondering if there is some fun action in the warm water periods?

Once Sept. rolls around it is incredible. But I want the grandkids to have some fun other than tubing or sunfish. Thanks!!! Just general ideas, not hotspots or hotlakes. We will be on our little clear water lake in ther area - a place nobody cares about, I am sure, but has decent fishing.
