TENT CAMPING IN THE AREA

2 posts in this topic

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to send me in the right direction for a nice camp site along lake pepin? I have a two year old daughter and my wife who will be along with me. I have a 14ft boat that i would like to park along the bank at night if available. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Trying to plan something in the next few weeks. I dont need to be on Pepin either. Just a nice place to camp in the area. Secluded would be nice also. Thanks again.

I crossed over to the dark side of smallies about 15 years ago. Mostly chase pannies in winter but used to chase eyes a few times on the hard water each season.   I could post a ton of pics if you need more proof.

Sorry to make you hold up a bottom feeder, but we needed to see it!

I was up over the weekend and my shoreline was getting pretty sketchy.  Had a pocket of open water down the shore about a 100 yards. Where I could see the bottom in two to three feet of water.  Walked out about a hundred yards and popped four holes Saturday afternoon. There was 17- 18.5"s of ice in those four holes. Looking at the forecast I can't see the ice sticking around too much longer.  The holes I popped had 5-6" of pretty mushy cloudy stuff on top and about 12"s of pretty solid stuff underneath it.
