Pepin with Dad

2 posts in this topic

Going to fish Pepin tomorrow with my Father.Dad is set on launching at the public access at the south end of Lake City,I think it's called Roschen Park.He likes the nice access and the great fish cleaning stations and makes the trip from the cities a few times a year to fish sauger and eyes in the bay straight out from the launch. The problem is,he'll drift or slow troll a jig & bait presentation back and forth in that bay, regardless of success or time of year. There's got to be another option I can share with him tomorrow.I would appreciate any Help? confused.gif

I got a father that does the same thing and we live in Lake City. He loves going down to 2nd creek, that is just south of the boat ramp where the rocks start along the highway. If you like northerns they are hitting down thier to, go to the point that comes out their before rocks start and the creek comes out, start casting daredevils or spinnerbaits .

Strange indeed... Try looking for much more slack water compared to the beech you were yesterday and today. The West side of the dam was on fire this afternoon; a friend and I were in the double digits within an hour.

fished a different spot today and it was strange, I was using crawlers and a lot of eyes bit and only 1 sucker.  guy next to me was using earthworms and he caught a lot of suckers and 1 eye.  twilight zone ! !  LOL  I just use a slpit shot most of the time.

All we ever use is a few bigger spilt shots and float/bobber with crawlers.
