Brief Report

7 posts in this topic

Fished the East end for a few hours midday on Sunday. Was pleasantly surprised at some decent fishing..Got 12 eyes between 15 and 22". Kept 3 16" clones for dinner. All fish were caught on a windblown rock hump. We used 3 way spinner rigs w/hammered gold spinners and crawlers. Quite a few mayflies still around but fish didn't seem to mind..

Shhhhhh! Small metallic color spinners during mayflies..... it's a secret. Don't tell!

That's funny because I gleaned the spinner trick from someone looking for the "infiltrator" spinner kits...Ended up buying some and have really been getting good results with them...Lost quite a few on hungry rocks though...Managed to land a white plastic lawn chair on one too... grin.gif

Are you going to have that mounted or do a fiberglass reproduction?

Left it at my buddies cabin for an "outside mount"...Figured it didn't have many good spawning years left so I kept it. It put up a battle in big waves but wasn't deserving of release IMO.... grin.gif

still love my setup for bluegills but not the best when I use a size 10 jig and fishin for crappies. I might grab the clam springs and rig a rod up with the wire thats a little stiffer and see how it works. this would just be for deep fish.

Out Sunday ... Looked like a City of Trucks and Castles ... Bite was slow but managed a few Crappies / sonnies on Plastics.   we lost a nice walleye near the hole on a moon jig and crappie minnow.   Might have to go Perching in the shallows on south side of MilLacs this weekend.  Hey Moose ... what ya using for Perch on Millacs shallows 12-18 FOW?

Was out after work for a couple hours yesterday and got two walleyes to bite. The Landing is getting flooded out. Was kinda hesitant on driving out after seeing all the trucks parking on Shore and taking the long walk out. With all the black ice out there it was a little spooky but after seeing 17" to 19"of good ice  was pretty comfortable with it

I will be interested to hear of your experience.  Please let us know.    I think the anecdotal evidence was that the service and quality was not up to the premium price, although that could be old news.     "fine dining" has been a tough sell on the lake.   Several places have tried and failed that I am aware of.

Only fishing for crappies. With a baby at home only get a few hours after work to fish.
