Are there any catfish or walleyes below the dams in faribault in the summertime? I'm thinking of making an evening trip to dunk a nightcrawler sometime.

There are some nice walleyes to be had, but unfortunately, using a nightcrawler is going to be inviting trouble - same with leeches - you'll hook into every rogue bullhead and sheepshead under the dams. I have had pretty good luck casting maribou jigs with no bait. Yellow or orange seem to work the best. Right now, the water looks pretty low - lots of rocks are exposed - if you're going to cast jigs, bring a lot of them as you'll lose your fair share on the rocks...

If you go, please post how the actions was.

Yeah, I know how it can be fishing the smaller rivers, especially below dams. I usually use twister tails without an overhead spinner to avoid hangups (well, numerous hangups anyway). I don't have any particular date in mind as to when I'll be down there, but I'll for sure post a report when it happens.
