Moose Lake

4 posts in this topic

I bought a week cabin rental for Serenity Lodge on Moose Lake at the Benefit for Minneapolis Police Officer Dave Holm over the week of July 4th. I have looked at the lake on the MN DNR website. Does anyone know what type of fish I should plan on targeting? My kids and wife will be with.

It's a panfish lake. The kids will have a good time though. Quality panfish if you can find them.

Thanks for the info...I will be sure to bring the correct rods then.

There isn't a shortage of pike in the lake either. Problem is the size. Lots of smaller fish but would keep a person busy if nothing else is biting. Have fun.

Most of our fish came on minnows under bobbers. I spooked countless fish with even subtle jigging.

Hey, Here a quick update on actual ice thickness or snow cover on trout. 14 inchs of ice pressure ridge out there. if you are  on a snowmobile if traveling fast on it watch for it. Truck or car i do not recommend on trout with pressure ridge. And yes i have been on the whitefish chain this year in truck. just not on trout. just my 2 cents
