Lake O'Dowd

2 posts in this topic

O' Dowd lake is supreme for sunnies and bass. Alot of vegetation and perfect conditions. I personally have been going out to a dock area, walking across to the opposite side of an island and fishing off the shore. There is a weed line, next to a rock line, that stretches all the way to the island across the way. Set up a slip bobber rig with any kind of smaller hook, add a wax worm. BOOM. You barely have time to close the bail before your bobbers under. You will catch alot of little ones, but every once and a while you'll real in some nice keepers. My buddy went out with me and caught a 6 pound bass off a wax worm on a plain hook. One of the funniest things ive ever seen. Lake O'Dowd in Shakopee is one of the most underrated lakes in Sota. Check it out.

I have to agree, but...you better be there by 5 am and off by 10:00am before the skiers hit it. Also some very nice pike in there.
