  1. Older Minn Kota 24 volt 80 # thrust Powerdrive trolling motor Includes foot pedal and mounting plate This is not a V2. $300 OBO
  2. I'm looking to upgrade my early 2000's Minnkota Powerdrive 50 lb trolling motor and I'm finding that based on my boat length and weight a Power Drive v2 70 lb seems to be the best bet according to what I've read. My question is will I notice a noticeable amount of added thrust between an older 50 lb motor and a newer 70 lb motor? Right now with my old 50 lb motor I have a hard time getting to 2.0 mph on a calm day with just me and a small amount of gear in the boat (Lund Explorer SS 1650, 75 hp Mercury 2 stroke) and I'd like to be able to easily get up closer to 3 mph as a lot of the tactics for walleyes these days talk about trolling cranks up in that speed over weeds. Also I'd like better control on windy days then I get now. Do you think a new Power Drive v2 70 lb would get me up in that speed range with my setup? Would a 80 lb Terrova be a big jump over a 70lb Power Drive v2? I don't see a big difference between Terrova and Power Drive V2 other than the 112 lb option...
