personally i think 2 inches is plenty..When you head out there in the evening ice will be constantly getting thicker just know the lake your going to Holy Carp, now we're down to 2" Crappie Chips...things are gettin' Desperate in the Doldrums...

I use a slightly different system. For me it's not how much ice do I need to hold my weight. It's how much ice do I need for when I slip and do a flying drop kick to my back without breaking through! And for me that's about 7 inches. Now that is FUNNY! I had never thought about it that way before...but if i slip and pull a Jimmy Superfly Snucka off the top turn buckle onto the ice....that could be trouble!

Funny you say that. I did the arse over tea kettle thing last year on 3.5 inches and it didn't even cause a crack. I go 250lbs. Well last year I did.

Who wants to go to Orr this weekend? I've been jealously following their temps and there will definitely be guys on the ice this weekend up there. Ah to be young and have no work or Honey Dos...I'd be up there...

Any ice developing around the cities area? Most if not all the shallow lakes/ponds are frozen over. A majority of the deeper ones are still staying open with the winds.

Its cold this week. I'm just a bit concerned about the mid 40's temps heading in for next week. The week after Thanksgiving its supposed to get really cold. So I'm planning 2 weeks from Saturday.

Well they are saying it will get down to 8 degrees or something like that tonight. That will definitely put some ice on the lakes.
