Anyone know of somewhere in the metro or online to buy a cheap gas auger? I really do not want to hand drill holes in 15+" ice this year....

Check the classifieds here on FM, CL, and pawn shops.

About 12 or 13 years ago I picked up my jiffy model 30 at a pawn shop for $110. Still works great. Cl, FM or EB are good options too.

Yeah I would definitely get a Nils if I could do it again--but they aren't cheap. I'd try this forum, Craigs List, or the Star Tribune classifieds. I bought a used auger a few years ago and I think I found it in the Strib....
