Big Birch Fishing Reports
December 29, 2011Was out last night off hoffmans bay landing. Someone broke through the ice with a 6 wheel buggy. 10 yards from access. Be careful out there,,,, 2 inches less ice in middle of lake than fri when I was out. :(

I have found Cedar Islands crappies bite after sunset. I have not fished it yet this year, but they tend to hang around the edged of the deeper holes suspended about half way down (or right under the ice). Green glow Ratzo, spring bobber and crappie minnow have worked the best. Cats will be down at

July 30, 2010Nice lake but the surrounding farms and warm weather in July have really turned up the algae blooms. Lake is quite fertile right now and I heard rumors of chiggers when I left the access last week. So I'm guessing that has a lot to do with it.
