Ok so its a sauger. I was thinking that first but then i saw the dark splotches on it and thought maybe a saugeye after seeing a picture of one. The spots were definitely more noticable when it was in the water.

Mississippi River Pool 3 & 4 Fishing Reports by Denver McKinnon
February 8, 2012anybody been on lake Pepin? I am going out tomorrow with a buddy who occasionally fishes it. I never have ice fished the river. Avid ice fisherman on lakes but never on river/pepin. Any tips or info I should know, any sort of good tackle, thanks

1 day back from my vacation I got out on pool 4 ysterday and did good on the draggin bite just like when I left. The walleyes we caught were in the 10 to 14 foot range the biggest fish was a 25 and a half inch walleye. nice to be back on the water. Good luck out there folks!!!!!
