The ice is thick and the weather isn't doing very much if anything at all to the ice right now in this area. Most places are 14 to 17 or 18 inches of ice right now. In the end though its always good to be safe when your heading out. Good luck.

Lake Ida Fishing Reports
January 7, 2012Ice conditions on Little Ida are excelent 11 to 12 inches of great ice. Crappie fishing has been slow but the eyes have been cooperating in depths of 18 to 25ft of water.

February 2, 2012Ice is still holding up good. Running 15-17 inches everywhere I have been. Lots of cars and trucks driving around. Not enough snow cover to be a travel problem for most any vehicle. With the warm weather we have been having I would suggest that you stay away from the pressure ridges.
