Blackduck Minnesota MN The guys that hit it yesterday said that they were measuring approx. 15-16" of ice. The access is opened up and there are some vehicles that are going out of there, although there is no real plowed roads; just a couple folks plowed to their fish houses. On the southside of the Duck, Beaver Creek has plowed again this year and our folks have liked his roads. On the north end of the lake, Dunrovin is plowing this year; both of these are a pay access.

BWCA-Duluth-Ely Minnesota MN Hit Island Lake for a while today. Awesome weather today for the fisherman but the fish must have been laying back having cocktails in the sand. Only managed 3 eyes in the 14" range, some nice blue gills but no crappies. I think the Lund is done for the year now.

Cass Lake Minnesota MN will second sunset cove. we have been taking our family vacation up there the last five years in august. last year we also went up over the fourth of the july and it was a blast. awesome firework show and a good party outside of the bar with a band.

Forest Lake, Hinckley, Lindstrom, Rush City Minnesota MN Went out on South Center yesterday 2pm to 7pm. Setup for jiggin in 14fow got 6 crappies all 8 inches. Jiggin spoon with live minnows or heads worked. Had some nice marks within the schools but nothing big. Tip ups in 12 FOW failed with small suckers, no action. West of Sunset Point.

Grand Rapids Minnesota MN I've fished a bunch of smaller lakes in the area for crappies for the past week and the bite has been as hot as first ice bite. The fish have been extemely aggressive all day long even on the clearer watered lakes when ya usually have to get em at low light.

Minnesota River While the sun was out the bite was pretty good. As soon as the sun dipped below the tree line it was over. I missed a couple eyes that shredded my minnows and landed 8 scrappy smallmouth. All caught on jigs and minnows. Water temp at 41. Beautiful afternoon.

Mississippi River Pools 2-3 tonight, two buddies of mine and i fished pool 2, searching for eyes.. non of us have ever been on pool 2 that far up before, heck only 2 of us had ever been on pool 2 and that was last weekend when we launched from down in st paul park area. only fished the mississippi one other time and that was may on pool 4

Mississippi River Pools 4-11 The river level at Lansing is 7.85 feet. The water temperature is 60 degrees. Northern Pike - Fair: Northern pike are being caught in some of the side sloughs using either crankbaits or spinnerbaits. Channel Catfish - Fair: Catfish can be caught using a night crawler on the wing dams. Bluegill - Good: Bluegill fishing has been good around the Blackhawk Lake area.

Mississippi River North Minnesota MN I have, but only 2-3. Fathead and 1/8 0z. fireball jig. I had one day that the only thing the 'eye's would hit were small sucker minnows on 1/4 fireball. CHARTREUSE. Key color for me. They love the current seams where ever there are rocks.

Ottertail-Perham-Battle Lake Minnesota MN Fished Ottertail Sun to Tues- had decent fishing - lots of perch during the day and walleyes started up around 4 pm- fished with shinners and creek chubbs on glow hooks- mid lake structure- nice eater fish with a couple over 25 as well. found some decent perch in over 40 ft of water otherwise perch were small - fished mostly in 18 ft near deep water.

Rainy River Minnesota MN We had two different groups that came on our "Bring your own gear" lodging special this weekend. What was really neat is how they worked together to produce some big fish. Many were caught in the 20's with the biggest being 29". Rainy is a big lake and when people work together great things can happen. People are driving out to Birch Point. We have great ice and a great winter ahead of us.

I was at Shaokatan the other evening and I the water actually didn't look too bad. There were a few chunks of moss here and there, but for the most part, it was actually trollable. I was quite surprised. The weather this year has been strange.

Upper Red Lake Minnesota MN Four of us were up Sat afternoon - Sunday, late morning. We were about 5 miles out of Rogers, just past Center bar. We ended up catching about 20 Walleyes and kept 13.

Almost all of our fish that we are managing to get to bite are comming out of 24' to 32 ' of water.
Tip-ups and deadsticks baited with pike suckers or shiners are working best for me.

Lake Winnibigoshish Minnesota MN Yeah, we drove out of the Birches access. It's funny out there in winter, how some humps are so specie specific. I've got one hump that's full of gators and the occasional pout. That's it......never catch a perch or walleye out there. I've got another hump that all I can ever catch is tulibees on it.
