i just got home from fishing this morning on forest lake... i left the house at 7, was on the water by 830. we launched at the public launch on lake #1. it was pretty windy out there on lake #1 so we trolled around a little bit with minnows and worms on spinners with bottom bouncers.. trolled all around the opening into that little bay to i believe the south side of the lake. trolled around muskie point or whatever it was called in my gps... no fish.. not even any bites.. we decided to go on the calm point just inside lake two and do some more trolling, so we did that.. still no fish.. we trolled deep, shallow, zig zaged and S turns in and outta the break line, fished around structure that was shown on my lakemaps card.. no fish.. we tried a few different spots around lake 2 jigging live bait and still no fish in the boat.. we also threw some cranks of all different depths INTO all of different depths to no avail.. also threw some muskie stuff for a little while when i was frustrated...
anybody have hints on where to try to pick up walleyes in the forest lake chain? any one of the three lakes specifically? live baits? cranks? any help would be appreciated... there were a bunch of other boats out on the forest lake chain this morning, most looked to be throwing for skies. it was chilly with a brisk breeze and sometimes a list mist of rain, but the weather wasnt all that bad actually.. i dressed in several layers and was just fine.
