Fogle Lake (Ringgold): A few bluegills are being caught in deeper water near structure. Some channel catfish are biting in the upper end and in the shallows.

Lake of Three Fires (Taylor): Lots of nice bluegills are being caught over the tree piles. Crappies can be caught using minnows suspended at various depths near the tree piles or along the old creek channel. Some channel catfish can be caught in the bays.

Icaria (Adams): The walleye fishing activity has centered off the big points off the south shore from the bait shop to the dam. Several have been caught from the rocks off the dam. A few channel catfish have been picked up at the upper end and from the shallow bays.

Three Mile Lake (Union): Some crappies have been caught near the deep structure or from edges of the old road bed. Walleyes have been caught trolling the big points in the lower portion of the lake. Crankbaits and jigs with white twister tails have been the best. Some channel catfish have been biting in the upper end and in the windward bays.

Twelve Mile Lake (Union): Nice bluegills are being caught near the deep trees. Some walleye have been picked up on the old road beds, fish mounds and from the dam. The maximum size is 21 inches and white or yellow twister tails seen to work the best. Farm ponds have had variable reports.

Big Creek (Polk): Crappies are biting in deeper water.

Easter Lake (Polk): Small crappies have been biting on jigs and minnows.

Fort Des Moines Lake (Polk): Crappies and bass are biting on minnows.

Des Moines River (Polk): Catfish have been biting on cut shad and entrails below the dams. White bass and wiper bite is pretty steady.

Banner Lake (Warren): There is a kids fishing clinic on April 26 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and catchable rainbow trout will be stocked.

Rock Creek (Jasper): Catfish have been biting on cut bait and worms north of the F17 causeway. Crappies have been biting on minnows in 10 feet of water and bass have been biting on jigs and spinner baits.

Hickory Grove (Story): Crappies are biting on jigs and minnows.

Ada Hayden (Story): Panfish have begun to bite.

Lake Ahquabi (Warren): Small crappies have been biting on small jigs off the fishing piers. Contact Ben Dodd at (515) 432-2823, Ext.108, for information on the above area lakes.

Hacklebarney (Montgomery): Anglers are catching 9-inch crappies off the dam on jigs.

Lake Manawa (Pottawattamie): A few nice-sized crappies are being caught on tube jigs or minnows. Try the north shore and/or the canals for the best crappie fishing.

Orient (Adair): A few crappies are being caught on jigs.

Greenfield (Adair): Crappies are being caught on the warmer days. The bite has not been consistent. Farm Ponds: Anglers are catching bass and crappies at some of the local ponds.
